Driving thru I-10, we always stop in Van Horn to have burritos, BEST in texas. Last week, we drove thru and our favorite burrito place was closed so we went to a new place: Chuy’s which is supposed to be John Madden’s favorite place in the area, he stops there every year. It was pretty good—GREAT chile con queso and ambiance. And the salsa was delicious too. Worth stopping in.

swimming holes
Lately, I’ve been thinking/dreaming/remembering the fun swimming I used to do in Texas. There are no nice places to swim in NYC—all of them are crowded and dirty or too expensive. Plus they’re all indoors.
I miss Barton Springs and city pools and going for a dip to cool down before work.
So, I’m thinking that as a goal, I should lose weight so I can visit tx and go swimming.

Living in NYC for the past year has made me miss TX and opened my eyes to how great it really is.
Now that I travel more, I think I will start to include some Texas spots for exploring and visiting.

angiem357 wondering why stupid food has stupid power over me!
I’ve traveled all over Texas, my whole life. I realize there’s always more to discover and experience, so I want to keep finding new things. I’m most familiar with SE Texas and the Hill Country, so I’d like to spend more time in W TX and the Panhandle.
