write songs

I miss this. I used to write a lot in university, and would play at the local coffee shops and for friends. Who I was then seems like another life. I’d love to start writing again, and hopefully find some semblance of that spirit of a past time.

i have just been in this mood lately. like i want to express my thoughts and emotions though song now. like lyrics and what not. i think its kinda weird for me, but its what i want to do, so i am going to do it.
so i started on threee songs last night and this morning, and i am actually quite happy about it. so i think its good for me. so i am going to continue doing for now.

I wish the soundtrack was better, haven’t got that part down yet. I need a better equalizing setup for mp3 files or something. I don’t do tech, just write songs….lol.

I’ve written lots of song fragments. I took some lyric courses via Berklee Online. I still don’t have any complete songs or recordings.

I’ve been reading a bit of poetry lately, paticularly Lord Byron and Author Rimbaud (they both inlfunced Dylan). I’m trying to see if I can learn from the rythmic ebb and flow of poetry to help me with my own lyrics.

Also (like Dylan) I’ve also been trying to learn from listening to traditional folk songs, somtimes old recordings or covers by contempary indie bands and such. I find these songs facinating because these songs are timeless and it’s hard to wrte songs with that weid sense of mystery nowadays. The is what music writers refer to as “The Old Weird America” how do you write songs about flowers growing out of peoples brains, and such weirdness?

anyways my notebook of imcompleate ideals is kinda turning into a notebook of half finished songs.

Song writting is a good way of expressing your feelings freely without actually saying the words you feel, That migth have been a really bad way of putting it. but im happy to help anyone who needs help with writting a song:) xxx

I’ve now got one song I’m pretty satisfied with. I”m not saying it’s very good but I”m satisfied with it. I’ve also got a notebook filled with basicly unfinished ideals. I’m feel good about the one song though, now I just need to work a little more at it and aquire a batch of songs.
