We’re moving to Colorado in less than a month. What’s the point, now? Will work on getting a Colorado driver’s license.

Abby . . . dislikes morning . . .
Well, I got my temporary license, which is nothing more than a piece of paper to carry with me until the actual license arrives in the mail in 2-3 weeks. Mine cost $24, but Hubby’s cost $60 since he has a CDL that he’s not willing to give up yet. Hubby also almost ended up with a license that said he was a female because he checked the wrong box on the form and the woman missed it. I caught it . . . and she had to redo his.
We’ll see how “worth it” this really is once the actual license arrives in the mail and I see how bad the picture is because I didn’t get to see it today.
Yay! One more thing that won’t worry me anymore! :)

After we get the car registered. Of course, I’ll look like Cousin Itt, but oh well.
So I did it. We got up at 7 am and were at the DMV by 8:30. I took the test (only missed 3!!) and then drove the lady around…I aced it baby! I get my license in the mail in three weeks so for now I have a “temporary”...it’s just a piece of paper, but it counts! Yaaa!
I’m going tomorrow morning at the butt crack of dawn to stand in line to take my driver’s test, vision test, and the written test. Suck.

how about this? if i know i’m going to stay here longer than this coming august, i’ll get to accomplishing this task, no excuses. yes, yes, it must be done. i know, i know. i have a bit of a list of should-have-already-been-done stuff.
I keep saying it, but this time it might be true. We are so illegal right now. It’s kind of scaring me. What if we get caught? Ha ha. I am a little nervous because I found out we have to pass the written driver’s test…and it’s been a decade since I took a driver’s test. whoops.

would love a chance to stay here for another year. would be most ideal to be employed by the same employer for another year. if we are employeed for another year, i’d be more motivated to switch from my tennessee license to a texas license.
We discussed seriously going to get our new licenses today, even called the DMV to see how much it would cost, and then decided to spend the 50-ish bucks (for both my husband and I combined) next week and stay home and eat cake for today. Not a bad plan.
We moved here in August 2004. I have an IL driver’s license with my married name, a Texas ID card with my current address…all close but no cigar! We already drive a Ford truck, it’s time to “officially” become Texans! Yee haw! (When you say it with a Chicago accent it sounds like “Yi haAA”).
