Not too shabby.

I hope to do better in 2013! 4 months ago

chrysania25) Mandy Roussow - Mangaung Kings and Kingmakers

It was an interesting read, just not enough to fill a whole book. The consequence was a lot of repetitions. Basically, all the interesting stuff was said in the first chapter and then repeated with an additional detail here and there. 4 months ago

chrysania24) Jo Nesbo - Phantom

Another Jo Nesbo with Harry Hole. Gruesome as always, but a good story. 4 months ago

Ashley Finished!

I finished this one on the day of the 1st….but I’m counting it! Let’s begin 2013 now!

#25. The Dog Next Door and Other Stories of the Dogs We Love4 months ago

smorrisActually...

... I read more than 25 books. I was double checking the books that I have read and noticed that there was one book that I didn’t list. So I didn’t need to worry about finding a book to read in the final 3 hours.

26) Private Members Club by Leonie Fox

Yay, I read more than I thought :o) :o) 4 months ago

Ashley #24. Cookie Dough or Die

By Virginia Lowell

This was a cute, quick read, little mystery. I have one more book for 25 for 2012. 2012 just ended but I’m half way through my last book!!!!:) 4 months ago

smorris25th and final book

25) The Tale of Miss Tiggy-Winkle by Beatrix Potter

I did it! After writing the last entry I had a sudden flash of inspiration. I had some books that were small enough to be considered books and would be quick to read. So I picked one of Beatrix Potter’s many wonderful books and managed to read the above in 5 minutes. Now I don’t feel so bad about not being able to complete this goal, because I DID IT!! YAY!!

Now to take a few days off from all this reading before starting on my next reading x books challenge in 2013. 4 months ago

smorrismore read

23) Bad Sign by Easton Royce
24) Our Town by Eric Eliman

Looks like I won’t be completing this goal in time for the start of 2013. I’ve fallen short by 1 book. Unless I find a book that has very few pages and is a quick and easy read in the next 2.5 hours… 4 months ago

loveonrepeatFAIL:

I read two books. TWO. That’s just sad. However, I have been reading. It’s just that stuff on the internet rather than books. (Yeah. That stuff.) Next year I’ll make time for both! 4 months ago

Si I justfinished “Wsihin and Hopin” by WAlly Lamb. One, of m y favorote authors, but not one of my favorite books by him. The end sort of brought things together, but it doens’t compare to the other books by him. It paled in comparision. Even tohg i hit 16 on the last day of the year, I still didn’t hit my goal of 25 books and count this goal as uncompleted! 4 months ago

smorrisAnother one

22) Eve by Ellen Steiber

3 more books to go and only 3 more days to go. Will I do it? 4 months ago

Ashley #23. Brownies and Broomsticks

15. – Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

16. – The Girl Who Played with Fire – Stieg Larsson

17. – The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest – Stieg Larsson

18. – Pines – Blake Crouch

I’m 7 books short for my goal… I’m going to give up on it since I didn’t complete it, but I did enjoy the reading that I was able to do this year. (I also read a lot of blogs, magazines, and poetry, as well.)4 months ago

LanieDidn't quite make it. . .

but enjoyed trying! 4 months ago

smorrismore have been read

I’ve managed to read some more since my last entry:
19) Folk of the Faraway Tree – Enid Blyton
20) The Wishing Chair Again – Enid Blyton
21) The Calusari – Garth Nix

Right, I’ve got a week to go to read 4 more books. As I said before, I’m getting creative in the books I read in terms of the size and how quick they are to read. There was nothing to I had to read novels all the time ;o) 5 months ago

Agatha’s Christie’s Hercule poitrot’s Christmas.

It was good. Starting to see too may patterns in Agatha Christie books. Took me three days to read. A good “lets get back into reading” starter book. 5 months ago

Choosing ME before WE by Christine Arylo. This is a great book if you want to learn how to love yourself a little more and to think of your own needs first.

smorrisanother 2 read

17) Little Women – Louisa Alcott
18) The Private Lives of Pippa Lee – Rebecca Miller

I have just less than 3 weeks to read 7 books. Think I might have to get a bit creative with the size of the books I read next :o) 5 months ago

chrysania23) Ian McEwan - Sweet tooth

I am a bit undecided about this one. Unlike the Review in the NYT, I didn’t see the ending coming from the start, so I liked the twist in the end (maybe I wasn’t paying enough attention). As always, I also liked McEwan’s style, which is clear and engaging. The story itself could have made more sense (there are quite a few gaps or things that are highly unlikely), but that is ok.

Funnily, I read Sweet tooth at the same time as I read The Paris Wife and both are written from a female perspective in love with a professional writer. From both experiences, I don’t ever want to date a writer. Much too self-absorbed :-) 5 months ago
