to my email interview about playing music and singing outside, for an installment of the little column I write for The Bard Chord, our acoustic music club newsletter. Wow, I have sooo much information to work into an article that I’m going to split it into two segments, I think.

She used to work where I work and we recently sent a freelance project her way, so she shared the bounty of her new Boise backyard.

We had it with saltine yesterday. Today I brought mini croissants…toasted in the toaster oven with apricot jam. Yum!

All 15 of them, individually, for banning plastic bags in the city of Los Angeles as of summer 2010.

I sent them my own little form letter with the subject line “Thank you for banning plastic bags.”

Dear Councilmember [Name],

Although I now live in unincorporated Los Angeles County, I work in the greater L.A. area and I am very proud that Los Angeles is leading the way toward reducing waste and litter by banning plastic bags. I’ve been using my own bags (mostly!) for a couple of years, but it’s viewed as a bit suspect in some stores. I’m very pleased that it’s going to become the norm, for a multitude of reasons.

Thanks for stepping up and helping the state justify its own legislation.
