How I did it: 1. I decided to buy the translation license for a book, rather than writing my own.
2. I teamed up with a good friend to do the translation.
3. We teamed up with equally passionate editors.
4. We teamed up with great graphic artists to illustrate the book, to make it something special.
4. I decided to do the typesetting myself, to learn how it is done.
5. We took our time to review and rework the text again and again.
6. We chose a professional printing partner.
7. We are now selling the book over the internet, directly from our apartments.
Lessons & tips: - Be serious about it.
- Take your time.
- Team up with professionals.
- Don't be afraid to ask for advise.
- Try to be financially independent enough so you don't depend on the sales.
Resources: Friends and their contacts are invaluable. If you have no friends with skills that could help you, ask them for contacts.

Runner up is the somehwat limping Tom Waits biography I’ve translated to german with Daniel.
Third in the race is a manuscript about producing a musical by Frank Zappa in London in 2003.

I am in the midst of paperwork regarding the set up of my publishing house and I have secured rights for the first major work to be published. Whoohooo!

I want to publish books written by myself and by other people, whose work I want to translate.
1. I want to publish a book about me and some friends producing a Frank Zappa Musical. I’m writing this one at the moment.
2. I want to publish my science-fiction short stories.
3. I want to publish science-fiction stories by other authors, preferable english ones in german or german ones in english.
Two books ready for publication, ain’t I didnt have courage to open the process to publish then. I known tha its is a difficult process but…
