I've got cheerfulness on a cloudy day 4 years ago

Over the course of December, I was made aware (from my local neighborhood newspaper) that there were three suicides within a 3 block radius of my house. This really bummed me out. Having been a survivor of loosing a dear friend to suicide, this really hit home with me.

This may be a feable attempt at trying to reach out, and it may not be the most ideal way of doing so, but if I can make one person smile, that’s all that matters.

I would like to create cheerful sayings and print them onto brightly colored paper and I’ll attach them to different poles, trees, buildings around my neighborhood. In a random fashion. I’m even considering creating an email address on Gmail to reference at the bottom of the sheet. Just in case someone want’s to say “hi”, “thanks”, “this is really lame” or “kiss my ass”. It would be interesting to see if I’d get any feedback at all.

    It’s worth a try, I guess.

Some people have a hard time getting used to the gloomy days in Seattle. There’s a perpetual dark cloud that hangs over the city from November through April.
