learn illustrator

Hi, I’m very new to the vector art… I discovered it 2 days ago and this is the pic I vectorized yesterday. I really loved to do that and I would like to know, which programm is better for vector art. Is it Photoshop, Illustrator or Paint Shop Pro? I’ve got only Paint Shop Pro, but I find that the pen tool is not so sofisticated as in photoshop. What do you think about it. I need your advice before I buy any other programm.

I found the classroom in a book series really helpful when teaching myself premiere, (back in 1999). I’m assuming they’ve keep the same level of quality.

Again, something to take care of post-travel.

I found that this is probably better for design than photoshop. I don’t know too much because lack of experience but I’m going to try and learn this first and hope for the best :).

Recently my church asked me to put together a logo for the new mission statement and I did using Illustrator and my sign making program. It wasn’t as hard as I imagined it would be. Of course I’m not totally proficient in it but was a joy to use.

That’s how I’m learning Illustrator. It has been slow going. Not because of her CD lessons, they’re brilliant and simple, as far as learning from CD’s go. I just can’t concentrate or focus and it is difficult not to be able to ask a simple question to move beyond a certain point. I’m not really working on this goal actively right now. It is on my upcoming list though… as my focus improves.

...because I hadn’t been working on this, so sometimes deadlines help. :)

ANNOYING! I’d rather work in Photoshop.

I signed up for an online Illustrator class over summer, but it was cancelled. I was so looking forward to it! Hopefully I’ll have the motivation to take it during the Fall semester.

I have a fine art background. Illustrator took it to a more professional and lovely level. I am really proud to know this. If anyone needs advice….
