I_am_X Nothing to fear, other than fear itself.
I found this after a bit, and saw that it was similar to what I do quite often at home. Although I don’t plan on beginning until after Winter, I need to get my physical ability up first anyways. Plus it’s slick out, and that is definitely no obstacle for a beginner to be playing with. ;)
I see a lot of people here are talking about tricks, which I have come to see also a lot on popular Parkour forums. However and call me out on this if I am wrong, but Parkour is suppose to be about freedom of movement, not being restricted to a specific move-set. I personally took interest because it is for everyone, find your own way over and through obstacles.
I don’t know, if I can help it, I don’t plan on learning any specific ways to jump a fence. :P Seems to defeat the purpose for me.

I had forgotten about this after first hearing about it some years ago, and seeing that it was not something going on in my area.
Now after some years, and a lot of changes in my life, it may be something to pick up some of.
I’m no spring chicken, but seeing the obstacles i’ve not only overcome but turned into supports for change in my life I think perhaps this would suit me well.

I can vault fences, tables, pretty much anything there is to vault. I’m pretty good at konging, i can kong a fence and a picnic table.
I can nearly land a frontflip, that’s what i’m working on now.

Start small, get better!
Go to various sites and forums and learn about it first. Try and get in touch with local groups and do it with them… for example, if you live in New England:
