Learning to cook 14 months ago

I always thought I was a really bad cook but the truth is I never really gave it much attention. I knew the basics, and really not all of them very well, but now that I’ve started really trying I think I’m pretty good at it. My son is loving the new creative stuff I’m making and if the kids are happy then mom’s happy. I’ve managed to even lose a few pounds!!

Back to basics 15 months ago

I’m exploring a bunch of new interests but I’m not giving up on my talents. I’ve started writing again (poetry, lyrics, blogging) and maybe one day will make it back on stage. I have a talent for helping others and am integrating that into my life as much as possible without giving too much of myself away (gotta have enough leftover for me). I’m also hoping to teach my children some of my talents. I sing to my daughter constantly, even silly songs that I just make up. I’ve been singing pretty much my whole life and it’s something I can share with her. My middle son really enjoys writing and making up some great stories so I share my love of writing with him. My teen isn’t so impressed as he has his own set of talents that he’s expanding on and developing (and hoping to teach to his siblings). It’s neat when talent is shared among everybody and what can be learned from just watching what other people can do.
