Abby thinks it's hot in here
Now I just have to get out of my own way, quit being so antisocial and shy, and make an effort.
I really would love to make a blanket or something for my mom! Why am I such a baby????

called Learn to Crochet in One Day and it basically has about eight hours worth of lessons in it. I’m not planning to sit and go through it all in one day, though, but hopefully the book will help me to accomplish this goal. It looks basic enough anyhow.

And yet, I have all this time on my hands here, sitting in this damn hotel room . . . WTF? I should be a crocheting fool by now.

including a couple of “how to” booklets. I just have to sit down and do it . . . which means that I have to actually sit somewhere besides here at my desk . . . which might be too painful to contemplate. :)
I first learned to crochet in high school. I made an overly large stocking cap for my dad, and then promptly quit crocheting. I think I must have been busy with school. I forgot how to make a slip knot, how to make a chain and how to crochet into the chain. Hopeless!
After graduating with my masters degree, I decided it was time to relearn my crocheting technique. I signed up for a two session course and immediately the muscle memory returned.
So far, I’ve made two Rasta-inspired granny squares! And there’s no stopping me until I’ve made an entire afghan!
Have some one else teach you, it makes it a lot easier. Start on making a scarf, or something easy like that.
