well, i’ve been walking every day now with my mom..no official training plan but i guess it’s a start. doing about 3-6 miles/walk
my mom and dad actually walked the LA marathon about 4 years ago with no training (in their 50s). My mom’s toenail fell off and they couldn’t move (at all) the next day. haha. i was so proud of them though!

Laura I want to talk about change.
Today I officially begin training for my Route 66 Marathon. My blood sugar was obscene 265. I haven’t been taking my meds or checking my blood. I’m famous for taking care of everyone but myself. So today, I took my meds. I have located my walking video and my SB diet book. We are ready to fly high now!

Laura I want to talk about change.
I have never done this and I’m excited! My boyfriend is doing this with me and my brother will too I hope. No way I’m winning so I will just have to beat my personal best. It will be fun to train. I got this idea at You Tube where I have been sharing with people who are doing weight loss video diaries. I think it is a great idea.

is around the corner… I haven’t been training seriously enough. So I changed my goal from running to walking the marathon. (I’ve already paid, too late to give up)
Last week’s 14 miles were hard to finish… I didn’t know walking could be so demanding.

I’m working on doing just a half marathon. I think it will be a challenge. I’m walking 5 miles now, and will increase the distance, but I’m also working on my pace.

I walked the Hartford Marathon on Saturday. Still sore. Glad I did it if only to check it off my list.

I did a 20-mile charity walkathon when I was about 13. It took 5-6 hours, as I recall, and I was good and exhausted at the end. I didn’t dress for it—I was concerned about sunburn, and SPF may not have been around yet!

I can walk 10 miles in the humid orlando summer with no problem…it takes me about 2.5 hours. I guess if I wanna walk 26.2 miles I should really raise the bar. I used to be rather obese. I went from 272 to 177 in like 9 months, I just don’t know how to start jogging/running without hurting my hips or shins…any ideas?
