i thought i would never be able to type right but i just took a class for a semester and ive improved so much! its so much easier and faster now. totally worth it.
How to learn to type correctly
How I did it: I was familiar with the keyboard and I could type fairly fast, however I only really did it with two fingers which tended to get awkward. I decided to take up a career with computers, so I knew then that typing correctly was essential.
Since I already had a feel for the keyboard, I simply forced myself to type with all of my fingers. All I really learned to start off with was the correct posture of my hands (with the pointer fingers on F and J) and then from there on out it was just a matter with repetition. It was difficult because I naturally wanted to revert back to the way I was typing before, but I persisted and made myself do it the correct way.
Lessons & tips: Never stop trying. It's all about getting your brain use to the keys so that typing becomes a muscle memory action. This can only be accomplished through a lot of practice. Eventually you'll get there.
Resources: There were a few typing sites that I checked out. Can't remember the name right now but a simple Google search for typing programs will turn up tons of results.
