Chapter submitted! 2 months ago

a little over deadline but it’s done. I hoping there wont be too many revisions. On to the next chapter. I am going to work hard on this one and get it done quickly so I can get some feedback. Finishing my PhD is seeming a little more possible now.

Deadline missed 3 months ago

Damn it! Chapter just wasn’t ready to go. One more week and that’s it. I have been working very hard on it. And I now just want the monkey off my back! New deadline-within 7 days or it just goes as it is.

Today's plan 3 months ago

Using the power hours to get some writing done. That’s between 5am and 8am. My brain works best then and once I’ve done something for the day I stop worrying about it and feel better. Plus I’m walking at least 10,000 steps per day, so I’m feeling good anyhow. It seems to be a winning combination.

Writing to get it done philosophy/guidelines 3 months ago

Read this article http://zenhabits.net/2009/07/10-ways-to-give-yourself-a-procrastination-inoculation/
Wake up early
Use the power hours from 5-8am- set the alarm and get up!
Track progress and review goals daily-using 43 things
write a to do list daily with 3 most important things- using igoogle desktop to do list
Reward myself when 3 things done -not so good at this because it’s usually a food reward and I’m trying to lose weight.
Work offline- use the Q10 program
Don’t give up until it’s done

working towards it every day 3 months ago

Just did 30 minutes of good writing and will try to do (at least) this much every day.

Another day another paragraph

When I think about all I have to do I worry. When I do something towards it I feel so much better. It’s difficult but not impossible. Today I am writing another paragraph and adding a firm goal for submitting a chapter.

Feeling good today- my topic is really something that I’m very interested in and I moving closer towards it. Things that get me there include a short (30 min) period of writing everyday, thinking and walking, assuming the position- that is sitting down to work with fingers on keyboard and goal setting. It really works.

I am planning a marathon to complete the chapter. I planning and structuring the time now.
