but not getting out or together with folks as much as I’d like. My apartment is starting to feel like a cocoon; the laptop does not help, unfortunately…

I need to bring together goals about using the library, making a schedule for the next day, and getting regular exercise with this one.

Gawd am I feeling overwhelmed. There is so much work to do just keeping afloat. I’m beginning to think it was nuts to take on consulting as a “part-time” income fix to allow me more time for music. The little stuff like shopping for a scanner is such a time and energy suck. I think I’m really terrified about not making enough money. At the same time, I am enjoying work-work more than I have in years.

However, I have so little left over for music. I am listening to Debussy right now, swooning, and wanting so much to sit down with a score and study it and learn how to write like that, and thinking how long it will take me to get to that level of understanding, let alone translate it into my own composing. And I Just Can’t Find the Time to get to that kind of focus.
