KatherineIt was there in front of me all the time...

Looking at that bench without its special garden spot was sort of causing me stress since I bought it last year and have never done anything with it. I am in over my head just keeping up on my regular gardening though so I wasn’t in any big hurry to dig up another part of my yard for garden. Tonight, I set that bench smack in a shady area I already have a lot of flowers and plants in and I’m calling it a day! In fact, I am going to go sit out there right now… 6 years ago

KatherineI came home from work last night...

and my “super vintage” garden bench was gone from the spot where I had put it. My husband and son made a spot for me in the backyard! They worked so hard and did such a nice job. Now for the bad part: I hate the place they put it! It’s right in the sun, and overlooking where our dog runs. I would have to sit in the sun smelling dog shit if I keep it there! Ugh, I am not sure what to do. I’ve sort of hinted that I’m not too crazy about the spot. 7 years ago

KatherineMy zen garden spot

I bought the most fantastic, “super-vintage” (read: really old and weathered) garden bench at an antique store this fall. I want to make a spot in the back of my yard, under the trees, for my bench. I want to plant some things that do well in a shady spot…like Bleeding Hearts and Hostas, maybe. I want it to be my spot to go and read, relax, and reflect. I might put it near my son’s basketball hoop so that I can watch him and his friends play too. 7 years ago
