build a linux-based music/multimedia appliance

Learning C++, should be a breeze with my knowledge of C and Java. Would be better if I knew Java 5.0 (1.5) instead of 1.4. But 1.4 should be good enough.

I’ve talked with some audiophiles who are moving to Linux what they think about the media players. They’re very disappointed, and I’m drafting up features I’ll have built-in, but try to keep it open to add-ons and stuff.

I have my reasons not to use Java for this one.

Next step: hit up the GTK+ library
