Unfortunately, tested this morning I can still only do 3 elevated pike pushups in a row… which is about 1/2 of a pushup more than I could do 5 weeks ago. I’m gonna switch over to a few reps at a 60 degree angle every other night or so, to accelerate this process. I’m still quite heavy (@225), which is more of a problem than I thought it would be.
I can do these against the wall, but not free standing.
These aren’t worth the effort, because you can’t get many in in just one set. Also, the blood rushes to your head, and normal push ups are much more worth the effort.
i can do these against a wall and im workin towards doin them free standin im just findin it hard to balance in a handstand so if anyone can help with that itd be much apreciated.
Or ones you got a wall to fall back into when you loose balance? because the secund Ive done for reps in my first attempt…
my goal with HSPUS are freestanding full range of motion ones and then one handed ones
or something. I got a handstand down on Tuesday’s practice session. Apparently, it’s easy if you lock your arms out. silly me. The moment I start to go down, my shoulder gives out. That’s fun. Anyway, Trying again today. This journey is longer than I had anticipated.
I’ve always wanted to be able to do capoiera, break-dance and do all sorts of great tumbling stuff with my body. One of the fundamentals is being able to support myself on my hands. As I work towards being able to pull off a handstand push-up, I am confident that it will set the foundation for a number of other skillsets and propel me on my way to infamy. mwuhaha. Plus, It will help condition me to learn capoeira
