I would love to volunteer my time for this on Christmas day!!
How to volunteer at a soup kitchen on Thanksgiving or Christmas
It made me
happy/sad/thankful 
"It felt so good to be giving these deserving people a warm meal on thanksgiving. "
How I did it: Every year my mother sister and I all go down town and volunteer in our local soup kitchen. My mother found out about this from a friend at one of her jobs and we've been going every year since. Its heart breaking to see all the people, sometimes even whole families, who have no place to go. no warm meals, no home. They are so grateful and it is one of the most rewarding things i have ever done and plan to keep volunteering my whole life. Sometimes im serving food, sometimes im cooking, sometimes im making trips back and forth from the market, sometimes im watching kids. But im always enjoying myself.
Lessons & tips: Do it. These people are so deserving. It is heart breaking but so rewarding at the same time.
Resources: Go to your local soup kitchen/shelter and ask about upcoming projects.

I live in a small town but not far from Tahoe i want so bad to help out during the holidays to help the people in need…im a giver not a reciver…i like to help people in need but i just cant find anywhere near me that needs it…i feel terrible..what should i do..ive already contacted all churches, stores, etc..but no responses…what should i do..i need help
