most people dream of great luxuries.
i never had that cuz i had some rich friends.. they werent happy. i count my own blessings. i find myself feel happy when i feel free when im far away from the urban world
i grew up not having much. i was always happy.
i once had everything. i wasnt happy.
I have a dream… a simple kind of life.
my own house by some sources within my hands
cuz i know i wouldnt be able to do it alone. i could—much longer a haul that way.
great meadows. trees.
even having a boat for a home would be so much neat!
but im not fan of sea food. i d love both… well the idea of camping on the camping site while having a boat!
i want to do it
but where, how or what to do to get started ?
im saving some money for a start.
getting rid of my excesses
what next?

Amshult is wishing she were closer to home.
God has provide all that we need to sustain life, and the ability to utilize it. I want to rely on my own two hands, not a factory farm or canning company!

My husband & I want to be mostly self-suffient. We already live in a rural area on approximatley 300 acres. We have one female calf about 4 months old, which later will provide us with additional calves and milk. We have chickens, which lay eggs. We have 2 horses, which provide transportation around the land. The nearest town is 10 miles away in either direction. We grow a garden every spring for fresh vegatables and canning. My parents-in-laws also grow a garden (larger & better) and raise cattle for food. We usually help split the cost of butchering with them for a portion of the meat. And we get vegatables out of thier garden, as well.
We plan to get solar panels for electricity. We had a generator that we used to use during power outages, but someone stole it.
We have also been researching alternative fuels for use in vehicles and farm equipment.
I could not possibly bring myself to butcher my own animals, myself. But I’m not above paying someone else to do for me!
I have tried several dozen work at home SCAMS. Still looking for something that I can work from home, without breaking our meager pocket book.

All I see is grimace on the faces of crowds in cities and suburbs. Noone is truely happy anymore. Over 90% of our ancestors lived hunter gatherer lifestyles, and they were happy, healthy, and full of love for nature and fellow man. We are long over do for a course correction here guys. It’s time we take to the wilderness and regain connection to roots long since forgotten. Realistically it is not hard, nor psychologically testing, nor difficult to preserve self in nature. We are from nature, and back we will go when the conditioning of the modernman is weeded out, and replaced with knowledge, courage, and love. If the reader is interested in escaping society, google: “The Rainbow Family”, or, you are welcome to join me, and a group of likeminded, down to earth individuals in the Sedona AZ wilderness in summer of 08’. Sedona is a powerful spiritual place and full of fresh water with food to live off the land. Remember, to will is not enough, one must do. Stop talking and act if you are serious. God bless. Has anyone seen the PBS documentaries such as 1940’s house, 1900’s house, Colonial House etc? Before modern technology, people worked hard and appreciated the things they had. They also appreciated each other!
My husband, myself and another work colleague hate life here in busy, dry, Australia. In fact, we just don’t like modern society.
All of us should pitch in for a huge piece of land somewhere and make our own village. A town with no electricity, no modern looking houses allowed, you can choose to have running water or go collect it from a stream or a well, and the only means of transport are horse, bike or by foot.
The school in our community would also teach children all the basics (maths, reading, writing) the old fashioned way and perhaps some manners along the way.
There has to be a better life than this. I hate going to work every day to support a lifestyle I don’t even enjoy. I’m not an especially religious person, but I think the Amish have it just about right!

I would love to be able to buy about 3 acres land, a good horse, a good jackass, the necessary tools to garden and build with, a boat, paddles, fishing gear, a couple good guns and ammo, some good knives, seeds, and whatever else I needed and just get away from EVERYONE but my son and live freely and without the BULLSHIT of the world. Be able to build a nice cabin to run off solar energy. just get out of here.

I definately would like to do this, I was stationed in Hawaii when I was in the Army and we used to do field exercises where we would be in the middle of no where (in the rain forrest)for days and it was awesome (minus all the fascist in the army). To tell you the truth , all I would need is a couple sling spears for fishing, a couple large (large because after time they would become smaller with sharpening) knives, 5lbs of soy seed (alternative form of protein), 5lbs of hemp seed (very high in protein and omega fatty acids also good for clothes making), Then 1Lb of each of the following… Beans, Rice, Orange seed (vitamin c), Papaya seed, Banana (good source of potassium) and garlic (natural antibiotic). All this will grow easy in hawaii and there is no need for anything else, fire is easy to make with dry hibiscus branches (which grow everywhere), Shelter? No problem, I can weave a bed/tent from palm froms in a day or two.
All of this would be a dream compared to living in the rat race
where we are constantly being poisoned (Aspartame, fluoride, mercury, main stream media…. SHALL I CONTINUE…) I wish you all the best,
Kevin Taylor
