I am in the middle of my two OU geology courses and am not really enjoying them, not as much as I thought I would. It’s not all bad and I am enjoying some of it, but the geochemistry bits are just horrific, like inorganic chemistry but worse. So I’m no longer in love with geosciences any more and will be going back to my first love, chemistry (not inorganic!) next year, but I am glad I have done these courses. It is good to know more about how our planet has been and is being formed and shaped.

I’m taking two geology courses this year, plus a week long residential school, plus going on field trips. I am so going to know more about geology by the end of the year. I’m thinking I might be in love with geochemistry
I’ve just been to the summer residential school for my science foundation course and have been inspired to find out more about rocks and geology and earth sciences. I’m planning on taking some more OU courses in it, and joining the Open University Geological Society. I’m hooked!
