I’ve been brushing up my English grammar this week. I will continue to brush up my English grammar until I master it.

I’ve haven’t studied English grammar since 1984 or something like that so I really need to brush up on my English grammar. As I’ve been studying Spanish for the last five years, it’s fair to say that I know more about Spanish grammar than the grammar of my native tongue. It is going to be an interesting linguistic journey!
When did it become a no-no to add a comma after “Shoots”?
I remember learning it the other way and that was when I know I was a studious, so I am certain of what was taught to me.
Anyways, it’s good to finally get this rule cleared up.
I started reading “Eats, shoots, and leaves” by Lynne Truss. I think that was the push I needed to really buckle down. I was brought up by an English family in Quebec, Canada in a French school. I was pretty much expected to learn my English grammar by reading and with a few token grammar lessons. Well, I’m finally going to take initiative! (hmm, is that a frenchism?) I’ll start by hunting down good Canadian English grammar tutorials on the internet and at the library. I’m so excited! (What a nerd! lol)
