Im on my first year growing grapes. I planted a vine last year in 2007. This summer i finnaly have some grapes growing on it. Im not expecting them to taste to good though. LOL

We have the Greek god Dionysus to thank for grapevines. Also known to the Romans as Bacchus, he spent much of his life traveling the world, bringing the gift of winemaking to mere mortals. His festival was celebrated on March 16 and 17. These infamous celebrations, notorious for their sexual and criminal character, got so out of hand that they were forbidden by the Roman Senate in 186 BCE.
I am a great lover of wine. To grow my own grapes would be a spiritual thing. I am planning my first attempt and still have much to learn…
