I’ve always connected with Sweden in spirit. Perhaps it is coming from a similar cold, wintery climate? Or my love of Ikea and lingonberries? I have come to realize that I love many things Swedish – Tvaandsstickning, Astrid Lindgren, Ingmar Bergman, Carl Larsson, Henning Mankell, Maj Sjowall and Per Wahloo, Helene Thurston, Asa Larsson, Camilla Lackberg, Steig Larsson, ABBA…
Of course I’d probably extend a trip to Sweden to Norway (especially for the fjords), Finland and Denmark, but Sweden would be the main draw!

I am in love. Simple as that ^^ I live in Southern Cali and my babi lives in Arjang. I will find a way to get there some day… I just wish I could go right this instant. But I guess good things are worth waiting for…I hate being so far QQ

Well, my husband and I started writing and recording songs about 6 months ago. We put our music up on an international website where people share their music and for some reason people in other countries really dig us. We got the idea to go to Sweden about a half a year before we even started doing the music thing. We have been contacted by a fan in Sweden who says that he can actually book us gigs if we were to go there to play. The only problems now are 1) We need a whole band (my husband plays all the instruments now) 2) I need to get some experience singing on stage 3) I need to learn guitar. Oh yeah, and knowing some Swedish would not be a bad idea either!

This will have to wait until I am out of debt. After my sister’s wedding, no more big trips until the rest is eradicated. However, 43T is about dreaming, so it’s ok to put it up. These types of adventures do not just fall into our laps. We have to commit, plan, work toward realizing them. So with V day over the debt scheduled in about 2.5 years, or faster if my snowball keeps rolling at the rate it has been, I can then look at enjoying a trip to my ancestors’ homeland.

Since I’ve been courting Scandinavian Studies as my Anthropological emphasis, I’d been longing to go to Sweden. I went to an informational meeting about a trip with Kansas University and they told me to budget for $50.00 (USD) PER meal.
Yeah, no. Not now.

The plan as of tonight is to go with sis, mom, aunt, and cousin tenatively in June of 2009.
We have established we want to go and are planning a date.
Next step, verify if all above want to go.
Then, establish when for sure based on those people.
Then plan on length of travel.
