learn to flyfish

In the next couple of weeks I will be buying a fly rod. Probably an Orvis Streamline bc it’s only about 150 for the outfit. I’ve got a couple of friends willing to teach and I am very willing to learn.

I learned this yesterday! It was a pretty amazing experience even though the fall morning air was frigid, my waders leaked freezing water onto my pants, and I didn’t get a bite all day.

My husband is a flyfish fanatic. He goes on fishing trips several times a year and spends alot of time in the basement tying flies. I don’t want to crowd him on his trips by any means, but I would like to see what it is like and why he is so passionate about it.

I grew up using a spinning combo. I recently taught myself how to use a baitcasting combo. Now I wanna learn to flyfish and catch both freshwater and saltwater.
