Perhaps you, like me, think “What’s all the fuss about?”
But when you taste a fresh truffle… ooooo, eeeee, oh my, they are like nothing else. They are truly perfumed and indescribable and absolutely one of a kind.
the first time I tasted one I didn’t know it was there. I slid my fork into some mashed potatoes on a vegetable plate at the Four Seasons and there it was… this haunting, exquisite flavor. Though I had never tasted a truffle before and certainly wasn’t expecting one in the potatoes, I immediately knew that that’s what it had to be.
Real trufffles live up to their billing and then some.
