I was in and took my friend Linda’s life, I planned a charity event in honor of Linda. Linda and I wanted to have another huge party like we did the summer before. So I talked to our band friends and they helped out. It was held at a local bar. We had a pig roast and all the proceeds went to the local womens shelter in Linda’s name. We raised about $600 in all.

worth doing def! It’s always great to help people… and try to do gooooooood…. try to make a difference.. my advice: pick a good group of people to work w/ ! not someone who will keep the money and not end up donating it! never found out what happened.. to the money we raised.. :( stupid shady peoples.

The benefit concert went off without a hitch! It was called “Strike out Poverty” and we held the concert at the bowling alley. We made quite a fair bit of money for the Millenium Campaign goals.
I want to plan some sort of charity event to raise money and awareness for down syndrome. We have nothing in my area, and I have no idea where to even start. Any advice?

BENEFIT CONCERT! My dreams are coming alive! I’m so happy about it, because I’ve wanted to do it for a verrrrry long time, but I didn’t have the funds or support, and now I do and we have a venue (not locked, but well on its way) and bands have signed up already! I’m very proud right now.
the over all feeling you get when you realize you’ve help raise a LOT of money for someone or group of people who needed it is better than anything I can imagine!
I want to experience planning an event, especially for a good cause because that would fuel my energy to work with people to come up with good ideas and stuff. I have no experience whatsoever in events though. And I would obviously have to get over my social anxiety first before I could attempt this. But I would like to try some day.. some day..
