I have been studying every day following the Daf Yomi cycle. Most days I do one or two lines because of time constraints. Some days I only spend a few minutes
I use the Artscroll Talmud, in fact I have a subscription to their Daf Yomi service. They send a volume in time for the current Tractate.
I also subscribe to Al Hadaf, Rabbi Zev Dickstein’s daily extract from the daf, and his commentary. This is useful for days that I can’t go to the daf itself.
The main constraint is time. To really delve into each page would require many hours, and enormous stamina both mental and physical. I wonder how the Sages found the time to develop their awe-inspiring learning. So much depth and profundity.
If you are studying Talmud, I would like to hear from you. Maybe we could exchange notes. I would like to hear your experience studying Gemara.
...in March, the Daf Yomi begins again, the cycle of reading Talmud. I think I should get on the train.
