Alaska  — 3 months ago

My husband and I want to cruise to Alaska this summer. I think I’d like to do a one-way, but don’t know how to arrange reasonable airfare home from Seward or Anchorage. We live in Florida.

Also, I’m having trouble deciding which cruise line. There are so many decisions to be made. I’d appreciate any personal experiences. My husband and I don’t have children, are 46 and 38. I have cystic fibrosis, which makes traveling a bit more difficult, but certainly not impossible.

I think this would be fun to see all the icebergs. I think sometime around April or May would be a good time.

One day  — 11 months ago

I have been on several cruises. The best ones were the two Disney cruises I took my children on years ago. I really enjoy the idea of living on a cruise ship for a week, meeting new people, being fed the best food and seeing different islands/countries. I think when I am retired I’d like to do this. Maybe by myself, maybe if there is a special person in my life. I have heard that Alaska has breathtaking scenery.

Inside passage  — 11 months ago

Worth doing!

I have been up and down the “inside passage” between Seattle, WA and Seward, Alaska. Beautiful trip…full of mountains, sealife, and sea birds.

My husband went on a fishing trip, and he absolutely loved it. He would love to go back, but this time, take a cruise. It sure sounds good to me. I’d love to see the glaciers while they’re still there.

I have to do this! I’ve always wanted to my whole life. I’m not sure when it will ever occur, but my husband and I will do this someday :D I feel an odd connection to Alaska.

Worth doing!

Going on a cruise to Alaska is awesome. Being pampered and having nearly all expenses included is much easier than going it alone, reading maps, and searching for gas stations.

Of course driving to Alaska on our own, spending three weeks travelling all over the state including going all the way to the Arctic Ocean, experiencing hiking and camping in the backcountry, meeting face to face with moose and bears, was much more exhilarating and nerve wracking than the cruise we took.

But even so, we were thrilled with our cruise and we’re planning on doing it again in the near future.

For sure go!  — 1 year ago

A definate must! The scenery is crazy beautiful and the food on the cruise ship is also pretty damn amazing haha. We got to see whales and everything, worth the money

Our first cruise. We got the e-Docs last week and now it is feeling real. I have been reading about this for almost a whole year. We are on Celebrity Summit – an 11 day cruisetour starting in Vancouver BC and ending in Anchorage. Anybody else out there on the same cruise?

Cruises to Alaska.  — 1 year ago

Worth doing!

It was great, learning about the Inuit culture, the state’s history, and everything. Unfortunately, it was eighty degrees in Juneau when we went…odd, huh? Make sure to figure out the weather before you plan a cruise. It can be very distressing when you’re trying to tour a town. :p
