She’s so much fun! I think the older they get the more stuff you can do with them. She’s still loving nursery, but we love having our family time together in the evenings and weekends.
In the morning when she hears my alarm go off she climbs into our bed between us and has a snuggle for 5 minutes before we all get up….I love that.
It’s Halloween in a few days and I’ve been explaining to her the Pagan meaning behind it. She thought it was cool, but the pirate costume we bought her for our pirate themed Halloween party is much cooler! lol
I’m going to help her carve her first pumpkin this evening – the pumpkin thing is a tradition for me which I want to pass down. I do very complicated designs of cartoon characters and spooky things, but I’ll stick with the simple jagged scary face for her one.
I really love Halloween, and this is the first year when she’s old enough to appreciate it too. I can’t wait!

since my last entry on this goal…14 months apparently!!! Doesn’t time fly!
Well, full time work/nursery is going well. I’ve just negotiated with my boss to finish at 2pm every Friday from now on so I get some extra time with Meg :o)
We’ve been doing some cool things recently, coz now she’s older we can do so much more. We’ve been out in the garden a lot planting veggies and playing with water and drawing on the patio with chalks. I took her swimming this morning and we did some cutting, sticking and colouring yesterday. We also do baking together sometimes.
I really feel in touch with her now and despite being a working mum, feel like a proper mummy. I’m very happy :o)

Miss Manners

Made her a manners chart. She is struggling through the twos right now. Lord, give me patience.

So far, so good. I’m proud of my hard work. My daughter will be 4, and this has been the most fun, rewarding and exciting time of my life. I LOVE this age.

She learned the signs for tree, please, and milk today.
Add that to elephant, mouse, chicken and thank you. I think she has had a very good week of learning and she is having a great time with it too!

Before her nap, she sang along with me to Frosty The Snowman. This was the first time she sang it with someone. It was so cute the way she’d take a quick breath in to sing the next line. When Ship looked at us singing and smiled at her she became shy and hid in my shirt. Poor thing, she sure has spunk!

Even with no nap (Parental units at fault here) the wee babe did just fine today. At dinner time she didn’t eat much and she started to nod off in her chair so, I had her “Hopper” brought up so she could hop while singing Frosty The Snowman (her favorite song and mine too).
Bed time went off without a hitch! What a good girl we have!

She is two! She talks like she is 10. I swear! Right now she is playing her Leapfrog My First Computer Backyardinags number pie game. While waiting for Daddy to take her to the library.
She is in love with reading, snowmen, trains, airplanes, lawnmowers, robots, Wizard of Oz, and her bunny she calls Pippin. She is almost fully potty trained. Still working on the overnights.
I am in love with everything about her.
I’m happy she is a part of our family!

I’ve been working full time for the last month and Meg has been going to nursery every day. She loves it! Its probably one of the best things I’ve done for her! She was getting so bored at home, tantruming all the time and not enjoying my company too much.
Now both me and her look forward to seeing each other when I pick her up, and we spend quality time together before her bedtime routine. I love it, and we’re both so much happier.
We even took one side off her cot at the weekend so she can get in and out of bed herself and she’s settled in really well to that. She’s come into our room a couple of times, but it hasn’t been bad at all.
I love my Meggy!

For the last week or so I’ve been feeling incredibly lonely at home with Meg. I really miss adult company. Its not like I never go out or anything….I do a Tai Chi class on a Monday evening and an aqua aerobics class on a wednesday evening…and I usually see my friends at least one evening a week.
Its just the daytimes that I feel so alone.
