How I did it: Nighttime skin care is essential for healthy skin. Something our mothers have always told us, turns out, once again, to be true. My oily, acne prone skin is now balanced and smooth with, literally, NO spots now.
Oil cleansing at night with either my own blend or Ponds (because I love the smell!!). The oil dissolves the oily grime and dirt in my pores and the hot, steamy washcloth (ALWAYS a fresh one) lifts it all right out.
I used a goats milk soap in the a.m. with a really soft body brush to exfoliate what the Green Cream (see below) had loosened up during the night.
Green Cream is awesome. I spent a good deal of time on the first level (3) and am now up to the second level (6). I don't think I'll need the last level to help keep my skin smooth!
Squalane oil (no, not from sharks - it's olive derived). This oil is absorbed into my skin as fast as a gel moisturizer dries. Makes my skin glow. I add a touch of rose oil (real, not fragrance oil!) and neem to balance, protect, and heal. If you add some neem, be aware that it stinks to high heaven - a drop in a small bottle of squalane is all you need!
Mineral makeup foundation
. I use http://www.geografx-cosmetics.com
. All of my other makeup is Stila, Lancome, etc., but the mineral makeup powder foundation has helped my skin more than I can say! It's wonderful!!
Making sure to wash my makeup brushes once a month. I know I should do it more frequently, but a month is my threshold - I start getting bumpy and rashy after that. Read how I did it… 5 years ago
