Travel across the country by train

I definitely want to do this. Someday. It’s bloody expensive. Via charges a mint to have a room (looks like $4300cdn one way for two people in a double bedroom during the spring/summer months, $2700 in the off season). I am thinking of something like, flying out to Vancouver and training it back or vice versa. That would be fantastic!

It’s definately an interesting experience. Going from rainy city (seattle) to snowy tree tops (montana) to the midwest (wisconsin) and then to the windy city (chicago)was definately something you can’t get anywhere else. It was a 50 hour trip…straight. I went on this trip by myself. But you know what? I’d do it all over again.
