mulysamaybe wonders if she is human or dancer...or what that even means.
Yay! I think I’ve got this one covered soon. Groupon was offering a discount on a flying trapeze class that’s offered nearby. I’ve been browsing the site for this place for quite some time, and this discount was just the thing I needed to finally sign up. Now I just need to give them a call and make a reservation for a class during the week, since I’ll probably be less crowded then. It’s only an hour and a half long class, but it’s enough for me at the moment.
Here’s the class description: “Fly through the air with the greatest of ease… just like you see in the circus. During the first class, participants learn the basics. You’ll hang by your knees on a stationary bar, then proceed up the ladder to the flying trapeze! After practicing a knee hang position for execution and timing, you may even be ready by the end of the class to attempt a catch with our catcher… and this is just the beginning! “

I’m planning to do this on or near my 25th birthday in October, so I’ve been working on my upper body strength. I want to be able to do all the optional stuff for first-timers! I’ll be super happy if they suggest a flipping dismount, but most of all I want to try a catch. I’ve been dreaming about trapeze school for over five years now so I want to do it right. I hate leaving a thing thinking that I could have done more if I was just a little more in shape.

And…I’m taking the class in aerial acrobatics (silk, static trapeze, etc.)! I start on Saturday! Yay!
Sometimes goals take time and happen at their own pace. I am learning to accept that and trust, hopefully…again…

It is one of the best things you can do for yourself.
It makes you work harder, sweat more, and die of pain more than any exercize ever. But you are so f-ing proud when you are done.
You can fly!

my sister introduced me to trapezing and I don’t find the time to go often, but when I do, it’s a lot of fun

I just got back from a Club Med trip and everyday I worked on the flying trapeze. It just felt so incredible to me. I miss it already and want to continue lessons now that I am home.
It definitely is something that you have to try once and I believe it is also something that has to be tried twice because the first time I was so nervous that it all went by so quickly. I was shaking when I got off, but also filled with glee. I forced myself to go again and after the second time… you could barely get me off there.
I fell madly in love with the flying trapeze! Being caught is the best feeling—very freeing!! DO IT!!! :)

There’s nothing like the feel of wind in your hair…and knowing that there’s nothing in the world quite like this.

there are trapeze courses in my town, but at the moment I worry that my glasses might fall off (they WILL fall off), and without them I’ll be blind as a bat.
I tried contacts twice, and it didn’t work. I might try again
