Added a bunch of new stuff and re-prioritized.
1) Live somewhere outside of Michigan, and possibly outside of the US, for at least a while.
2) Live someplace with reliable mass transit (i.e. some kind of subway)
3) Get a job that leaves me time to work on personal projects and research (research might be part of my job, hopefully).
4) DO NOT do anything that makes me significantly unhappy and is not crucial for me to function for more than six months.
a) I have a phobia of calling people on the phone to make appointments, inquire about bills, call for tech support, etc, because I think I’ll sound dumb to them. But just because it freaks me out doesn’t mean I just stop doing it after six months. It’s a vital sort of a skill. And that stuff won’t go away.
b) This rule is more for jobs / people / projects that come into my life… If it doesn’t do it for me, I have to do the following: assess what about it makes me unhappy, decide what WILL make me happy, and make a plan/chart a timeline to move on in a positive way (i.e. ‘running toward the new’ and not ‘running away from the old’)
5) Learn to play an instrument well, preferably piano, among other things.
6) Front a band, preferably a rock-your-socks-off indie/prog band, that plays real gigs (not just ones at a high school auditorium, lol) and write deliciously fun, introspective, disturbing, and occasionally sexy lyrics for said band
7) Write at least 3 decent (solo) songs per year
8) Do more acting / directing again. I don’t actually expect to be able to do this solidly until 25 or 30, and that’s okay. I have friends that didn’t finish their undergrad degrees until 27 or 28 years old. I think I might be settled into the next phase of my life by then, and able to do that so we’ll have to see.
9) Have a continued web presence for friends/family to follow and to share with the world
10) Get something published, somewhere, sometime.
11) Stay in relatively good physical shape for the rest of my life. Don’t have to be super athletic or look like a member of Cirque du Soleil or something. Just… healthy BMI, not getting tired running up a couple flights of stairs, that kind of thing.
12) Practice Yoga / Meditation at LEAST once a week and hopefully more as time goes on
13) Continue not eating meat.
14) Get Dreadlocks—When my hair is long enough and I’ve had enough of it being (as I saw someone else on 43 T describe) “long and messy and overly sexy” I’m going to dread it, I think. Then cut it all off and start all over again.
