This is going quite well. I had a bit of a blip over a couple of days when I didn’t feel well and couldn’t be bothered to eat proper food, but otherwise I think this Thing is leading me to eat more interesting meals, and more variety, which I’m liking.

There was a report a couple of weeks ago that said if you don’t smoke, don’t drink too much, get some exercise, and eat 5 portions of fruit and veg a day, you’re likely to live for 14 years longer. Well, I’m good on the first three things on that list, I just sometimes slip up a bit on the five-a-day front. That report sharpened my thinking a bit on why it’s worth doing.

Since I started my new job at the hospital, a whole new world of fruits and veggies has opened up to me!

As i have done it for a week, and Im pleased about that.

And I want to change this into another goal which is a bit more rounded, and generally eat more healthly. I mean you could eat 5 a day but still eat loads of shit or chocolate or stuff… I want to make sure I am getting a well rounded balanced diet, and try new foods and stuff.

So that will be the new updated goal!

Eating 5 a day is good, but i also want to eat more healthily in general.

So have made these muffins, which I think will be perfect to eat at the beginning of the day or as an eneregy booster before exrcise, as they are packed FULL of goodness…

pumpkin seeds, poppy seeds, sunflower seeds, cranberries, blueberries, dates… need I say any more!

They taste good (though my turbo power oven has slightly overcooked this first batch) so Im impressed with myself! Pefect for when Im peckish after a meal too, much better than eating a chocolate bar or owt like that!

today!

Consumed
1 glass pineapple juice
1 serving tomatoes (in home made lasagne leftovers)
1 serving other veg (n home made lasagne leftovers)
1 serving cooked beetroot (with said lasagne!)
I serving apples/carrots in my HOME MADE carrot and apple juicer. I figured it was about time I got the machine back out and put it to use!

Yay for me!

I really found myself conscious of trying to achieve this… having skipped lunch though, it made it a bit tricky!

Achieved it though:

1 big glass of pineapple juice
1 portion of tomato sauce (home made lasagne)
1 portion of other veg (home made lasagne)
1 portion of mixed berries (with waffle & greek yogurt)
1 bag apple crisps

Yay!
