It has silver shiny tape and two types of gaffer tape.
It took a lot of tape and a lot of time. But it was fun! I taped while listening to a documentary.

It looks prettier in person. I realized it’s really hard to take a good picture of a hula hoop. I should measure it. I modeled it after my favorite (first) hoop. 3 months ago

I was having a hard time making the hoops round.
It turns out that the PVC pipe I got was probably old or had been sitting in the sun for a LONG TIME. It was stuck in that small spiral they sell it in.

I made an almost perfectly round hoop with my new batch. I’m making another one now! 3 months ago

Maybe I’ll cut a new hoop from it today.

I have PVC tubing but I think it was kept in the coil too long before I bought it so it doesn’t go into a circle easily-so frustrating.

I’m going to Lowes today to look for flower pots (white, SK pots)and I might buy more tubing!!! :)

I want to buy my PVC piping. I want to order my gaffer tape and buy the connectors and the thing to cut the PVC piping.

I am excited!! I’m also a little bit scared!

There are videos out there but basically you
cut the piping, you dip it into hot water, you put the connector in, you tape it with duct tape (optional??), and tape it with gaffer tape. That is the hardest and most expensive part!!

I really really really really wants everyone to have a hula hoop. I have been surprised that most people aren’t that interested in trying it. Maybe it’s not for everyone. To me it has been a life saver. I just couldn’t get myself motivated to exercise…for years. Now that little hoop calls me from across the room whenever a fun song comes on. Oh and for people who like wine, wine and hula hooping is one of the most magical combinations I have ever found. Green tea and hula hoops area close second though!! :) Let me find a pretty photo for this post.
