Amazing workout yesterday. 25 minutes on the rowing machine (hello glutes!), 20 minutes on the Arc trainer, some assisted dips/chin ups, and a half hour of stretching and some head stands :)

My husband woke me up at 5:15am yesterday making weird, scary moaning noises in his sleep. So I took the early wake-up as an opportunity to go to the gym. I arrived at 5:40, only to find the closest rec centre to me doesn’t open until 6am! So I went another 5 minutes down the road to the other rec centre, which I like better anyway.
Did interval training on the Arc Trainer (love that machine!) for 30 minutes, some upper body work (machine-assisted dips, pull/ups, chin-ups), and 15 minutes of great stretching. Felt great.
I also weighed myself and was 2 pound lighter than the last time I checked. :) 17 months ago
The other day I did a lower body weights session. Ooooohhh man, were my muscles sore the next couple days. Feels good :) Yay me. 17 months ago
Today I went to the gym – the first time in about 3/4 of a year. The reason I stopped going was that I joined a yoga studio and was doing that as my main source of activity, plus hiking. But I have been finding that yoga is a slow process for gaining muscle and strength, and cardio is not great with yoga.
So I’m going to head into the new year with a more balanced approach to physical activity. I’ll create a schedule to keep me on track – perhaps two days/week at the gym, a bunch of yoga, and some hiking, and maybe even I’ll get my bike out.
At the gym today: 30 minutes of good cardio on an eliptical hill climber, 5 minutes on the rower, 15 minutes on the gravitron (weight machine for chin-ups, pull-ups and dips), and 10 minutes of stretching. Feels good, and I was pumped as I had my Nano with workout music. Yay me :) 17 months ago
