I like the tree houses idea. And the idea to keep some students on the ground and such. But for the designs of how the tree houses should be set up, I was think sorta Alex’s idea with the triangles, but a little different. Like, the math triangle of houses, the science tiangle, and the other triangles could all branch out (pun intended) from a main tree house or like the dining hall. That way kids can get to the lunch room in the same amount of time, no matter what class they’re in.

Or they could spread out from a main hall. I’m just throwing out ideas here :P 3 weeks ago

So right now it’s looking like we’re going to have mostly treehouses, so I wanted to expand on that idea (If you haven’t voted yet, go vote! Last vote page, titled “Guys…”. It’s working with the current plans.)

It seems like, with the design that Cay found, we should make it so that way it’s two floors, with two classrooms on each floor (for each treehouse). So that way, there’s 4 classes a treehouse.

I think it would make the most sense to connect the treehouses in triangles, so that way from say… Treehouse B, you can go to both treehouse A and treehouse C without walking around the outside of, say, an octagon.

Then we could just keep connecting them in triangles and build out for the classrooms that way. However, this may not be the best/most logical way to organize it, so I want everyone to come up with an idea. Or build on someone else’s idea. But try contributing something new. :3

What we will probably need:

1.5 treehouses for math (so we have 6 tree classrooms)
1.5 treehouses for science (so we will have 6 tree classrooms)
1.5 treehouses for English
1.5 treehouses for foreign language
1.5 treehouses for history
1.5 treehouses for mental arts
1.5 treehouses for therian classes
1.5 treehouses for avian classes
1.5 treehouses for kinetics classes
1.5 treehouses for enchantments classes
1 treehouse for art
1 treehouse for theatre
1 treehouse for music
3 treehouses for “other” classes

This is another reason why I think triangles would make sense: we could group the 1.5 treehouses together, so we have a math/science triangle, or an english/foreign language triangle, or a history/mental arts triangle, or an art/theatre/music triangle, or an “other” triangle, or a therian/avian triangle, or you get the idea.

But any way we do it, we need a way to organize 21 classroom treehouses.

For dorms:

If we do student dorms in the trees, and we do it like we had been discussing doing dorms in the past (like… 4th year avian guys are all in the same dorm) then it would be one treehouse for each gender for each year for each house, meaning there would be 60 houses. If we do the same treehouses as the classrooms, then we would have a maximum of 9 kids per floor, which has plenty of space so no worries.

HOWEVER… 60 houses is ALOT to put in the trees! I would suggest that we JUST do upperclassmen in the treehouses, so JUST 6th years are in the treehouses. This means we’d only have 10 dormitory treehouses, the rest can be on the ground. This is like, an upperclassmen privilege (just like how in highschool seniors can leave campus for lunch).

The ones on the ground could be really cool organic designs, wrapping around the trees.

Or, we could do 5th and 6th years in the trees, or we could do all of them, it’s just a suggestion.

I need you to vote. I know. I have been doing a ton of vote pages lately. It’s a way to MAKE you guys get involved because alot of times one of you will zone out for like weeks at a time (I do it too, I know. Bad Alex.)

However, we really need to get this figured out. Here are the four things we’re discussing as of now, and I want to hear your mind on all of it.

I have a series of things we need votes on:

Vote One:

a) Incorporate tree houses into our school
b) Leave it as the peninsulas blue print.

Vote Two:

a) Incorperate glass into our school. By this I mean glass domed roofs, or entire walls made of glass, or even floors made of it so you can see below you if we’re in tree houses. Glass floors are SAFE, fyi, they do not run the risk of breaking.
b) Work traditionally… wood, a few windows, but no weird things like glass floors or rooves or walls made of glass.
C) a middle man—define what you think glass should be used for (ie only in the walls, no glass floors or something)

Vote Three:
a) We should do the school on houseboats. Have a houseboat for each class, and bridges connecting the houseboats while we sail along the coast. There would be a few dormitory boats, a few class boats, etc etc.
b) We have houseboats for the teachers and/or students in a summer programme.
c) no houseboats. Water is icky, and no one should be on it ever.
d) We shouldn’t allow students on them, but we could have a couple for the staff.

Vote Four:
a) We should give the kids hammocks for beds. They could put a mattress in the hammock, making it pretty much a bed, but it allows for more storage space under it. Additionally, it gives them freedom to arrange their rooms as they choose. They could put hammock over hammock, or they could have it going around part of the room like a wheel. This also allows for them to take the mattress out, giving them a different option for sleeping, and giving them something they could take with them down to the lake or whatever to lounge in. If they go on a trip for the weekend as upperclassmen, they could take it with them for camping or whatnot.
b) We should give them hammocks, but not have it as their beds.
c) we should have them pick between beds and hammocks
d) Screw the hammocks, hammocks are weird. Stick with beds. 4 weeks ago

In this design everything is on wheels withthe eception of the bean bag chairs(dots) and the kitchenette(square). We could move the beds around to fit another 2 people in the room. There is still the space in the middle for homework but now it is much smaller due to the tree in the middle. I removed one triangle thing to make more space and I will post an actual design of the triangle thing later. 4 weeks ago

I was thinking, we should as well build a computer Lab. 20 computers. Which isn’t a lot considering there’s 1,000+ students, but enough to do school work. The students can sign in a sheet of paper name, time in and time out. A staff can take turns if they wish in watching the students, make sure they don’t mess with the computers. ~ Watchia think? 4 weeks ago

Each dorm would house six students. I did not include the decks.

There would be 2 entrances on opposite sides of each dorm. On one wall would be 3 bunkbeds. In the center of he room would be a table with chairs around it that the students could use to do their homework. The triangles are movable shelves that roll that they could use to store clothes or whatever they want inside. If the student brings like a TV or somethig then they could put it inside one of those also. 4 weeks ago
