We are sooooo close!!! He pees on the pad 98% of the time but I can’t quite get him to poop there as easy. He will poop there if no one is around or looking but more often than not, he will just poop slightly to the left of the pad. He gets it somewhat.
How to potty train my puppy
How I did it: of course treats played a big part in it. he learned to pee on the pad very quickly but it was a lot harder to get him to poop there. he eventually just taught himself and about 4 million treats later, he is fully trained.
Lessons & tips: FYI: Dogs will do anything for a treat!

sugar is getting better. shane has helped a lot. i have hope. the other day she even scratched at the door to tell me she needed to go potty! :)
Rori is getting better, she uses the potty matts most of the time. I just cant get her to scratch at the door to go outside. Im thinking about getting a doggie door and seeing how she likes that.
That’s sad you had to get a new dog. My older dog took about a year to finally potty train completely. She’s my baby girl. The new puppy I assume won’t take as long as I’m home more often than I used to be. Working FT and owning a puppy is not recommended to anyone.
I gave up on the puppy. Gave him away and then went to the Humane Society and got a dog that was already potty trained. He isn’t 100% trained, has a few accidents, but mostly!! HE’s a year old this month, got him when he was only 7 months old, full bloodied English Cocker Spaniel. He’s great with the kids and we just love him so much!! His name is Sammy.
I can’t get this beagle pup to go potty outside. She does her duty and still comes inside and does some more doo-doo ing. UGH. The kids love her and I hate to get rid of her so soon into the game, but I’ve tried everything. Those potty pads are ridiculous. She lays on them and sleeps. Maybe it is just the breed of dog, maybe they are just too stubborn or something. I am so frustrated with it. Giving it one more month.
