How I did it: I bought my first Macbook three years ago, and while my old Macbook was by no means obsolete, I'd been hankering for a new one since Apple released the new unibody shell for the Macbook Pro. But it wasn't until my cat kicked it off the desk and shattered the screen that I was able to justify buying a new one. (Bad kitty! Good kitty!)There are several ways to purchase a new Macbook. If you're switching over from PC … Read how I did it…

How I did it: I got it when I graduated from high school. It is much nicer than any PC I have ever had, especially for school presentations and the like. I'm using it for college. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I saved money for three months and then went in on the refurbished one. I will say, I would not know the difference between a refurb macbook and a new one. It was practically sparkling! Read how I did it…

How I did it: It took me a little while to save up for it. I had to sell my 52" Sony Wega Televistion that I wasn't using that much anyway. I also saved up my Christmas money and boom now I have it. I'm excited as all get out. Apple is awesome and I'm wondering when will Apple run the world, LOL! Read how I did it…
How I did it: i went to future shop and bought it. had to wait a few weeks months until boxing day to get a discount, so i ended up getting the macbook for $1149 before taxes. my mother paid for it, so i don't get allowance for 6 weeks. Read how I did it…

I’m flying home to Australia via London Heathrow, so I’m tempted to buy it in the airport on the way, since the pound is weak so this would save a few hundred euros – that’s a lot of money!
I have to wait four hours between flights so there should be time. Only problem is – I imagine there is a whole bunch of stuff that comes along with it. The boxes seem pretty big.
Has anyone done this? Is it plausible to fit a new laptop in your carry-on?
I’ve finally saved up the 1400 euros I need to buy the MacBook Pro that I want. So now I can buy it soon. I’m a bit nervous!
I think I might miss my current iBook G4, so here might be a nice place to eulogize it. Not that it’s dead. I’m using it right now. I feel so close to it, I almost feel like it’s watching me type this and getting upset. It was my first computer, and I bought it a bit over four years ago.
But at the start of the year, it stopped making connection with its battery – the battery’s fine, but the connection doesn’t work. So if it’s not plugged in, it’s off and it forgets stuff.
And it has a slightly temperamental plug, so it can sometimes switch itself off when I’m not careful. As you can probably imagine, this gets really annoying.
But it’s soldiered on for the last nine months somehow without continuing its descent. I thought it might get worse and worse.
I won’t say goodbye to it just yet. I think I should read about how to take better care of my next MacBook before I buy it.

I am putting this goal on hold for now. My laptop is serving its purpose and this year I am focusing on saving money. The item was more of a want than a need.
