I met Terry Pratchett at a book signing in Sydney in 1998 with a group of people I’d never met face-to-face before. We all played on Discworld MUD.
It was quite astonishing to meet the man and he was quite lovely. I still have the two books he signed for me and they’re worth more than any amount of money I could get for them on eBay.
If you have the opportunity, met him. You’re unlikely to regret it.
