Georgia passed a law in 2008 where anyone who calls herself a social worker must be licensed. There is a test administered by the ACT that would bestow the license, and it doesn’t look too difficult, but I need to see if my previous certification from Tennessee will transfer first. I have put a call into the board and sent an email but haven’t heard back yet. I’ll follow up on my next day off. 9 months ago

I know this sounds like it should be a faster process, but it takes an enormous amount of time to find a job that you’re qualified for and interested in, and then each site requires that you upload and paste a lot of info. It’s taken me more time to find appropriate listings than it has to actually put in the applications. I’m now signed up for every e-mail notification in the world, and that takes time, too. I’m really trying not to get discouraged. 9 months ago
