I need to find a good project for my honors capstone. I tried to email someone that my prof suggester, but she pretty much turned me down. It would’ve been a perfect project, too. I guess I do have until senior year. But I want to do something really cool and publish something unique-ish. 15 months ago

My senior researcher isn’t keen on working on the project.. she doesn’t even care if she gets published, because it’s not her field and she’s not going to grad school next year! It makes me kind of pissed off. She took a great opportunity away from anybody who would benefit more, namely somebody actually interested in the subject, and screwed it up! 15 months ago

I just became an “undergraduate research assistant” and my name will be included on a massive paper in collaboration with a senior and one of my professors at my uni! This just came out of no where, I’m just in shock. 16 months ago

If I get into Honors (they are so slow at my uni with processing things..), we’re required to have some kind of capstone project or thesis, which will be done in my senior year. Maybe if I work with a good advisor I can try to get that published.

A second possibility isn’t truly getting published ‘in’ my field, like a research journal, but our uni has a journal about international issues and I could write a piece about anthropology/global health/international issues. It’s more of a stepping stone than getting published. I’ve gotten published in a school journal before.. not a big deal.

Finally, if I can get an internship or into research with a prof, I can get published that way. The point is that I want to get my name out there, see what it takes to get published about stuff I’m interested in, etc. 16 months ago
