I am sure this would have been worth it to me – propbably would have helped me read more and better stuff but I just didn’t follow up on it. I don’t think I will continue trying to do this in 2013. 3 months ago

philosopheTaking this up again...

So far, books I have read include

The Nice Girl Syndrome
Unbroken
The Verbally Abusive Relationship
The Emotionally Abusive Relationship
The Prince of Fire

I will try to keep better track, but that requires not forgetting about 43things! Sadly, I lose track of my goals so easily. But being on this site helps me to stay focused. New goal: write something here daily! 14 months ago

I am using http://www.goodreads.com to track books -
I have set up 2 shelves 2012 books I’ve read and 2012 audio books. I listen to a lot of audio books so it is fun to keep up with them too.

This year, I’ve read Cursor’s Fury (Butcher)
I’ve listened to – Inheritance (Paolini), Captain’s Fury (Butcher), Hunger Games and Catching Fire (Collins)

I have a Kindle and want to read higher quality books on it – it is too easy to ready a cookie-cutter chic book.

I like to read non-fiction and listen to fiction – but I haven’t finished any non-fiction books this year. 14 months ago

philosophe1. Carrots 'n' Cake

A book of recipes and life vignettes by the author of the popular healthy living blog of the same name.

I really enjoyed this read. It’s short, relatable, and inspiring. Her premise is that you can live a healthy, balanced life, be strong and fit, maintain your optimal weight, and enjoy delicious treats as well. Who isn’t all for that?

Once I reach my goal weight, I will try to adopt a more balanced approach along those lines, though I think that (with as many bad habits as I have) I need the extreme healthiness I am using right now to lose weight.

One thing I noticed about the author is how incredibly mindful she is about all her food choices, and in a way that is sustainable. Definitely a good read for those interested in health as a lifestyle rather than a temporary solution to a little bloat. 16 months ago
