I need to read more. I do not get into fiction books or fairy tales…I like to read things that will enhance me and make me better. So I have pu this book on my list of things to do.

    Finally Finished! 2 years ago

This is worth reading, and I’d recommend it to anyone.

Finished reading the book! 2 years ago

I finished the book yesterday. It was a relatively fast read. I found it interesting after I got through the initial what this book will do for you section and actually into the implemention section.

Although I already make lots of lists to clear my head, I feel this system is much more effective by not having to continually reschedule the dates. Making myself go through my paper stacks in order and not placing something back in the stack should also really help me.

Now, it’s time to try the system out!

It's all good reading... 2 years ago

...but putting the reading into action is a whole different ball game. It’s a lot like having faith in yourself… You can read about it too but that doesn’t mean you have it. Does that make sense? I read the book years ago, and I still think its the best book I’ve ever read on Getting Things Done.

    Chapter 7 3 years ago

I know, it’s taking me forever. I’m finally at the point where I have time to read again.

I’d really just like to implement some kind of organization/decluttering scheme in my life, and soon.

Getting GTD Done 3 years ago

I’ve read most of the book now and have begun to implement its teachings. Yes, much of it is plain common sense. Yes, many of these ideas have been around for a long time. But this one book puts it together in a way I can understand and use.

Add to this all of the support and additional information for GTD available on the ‘Net and you can recognize the power a system like this provides.

two chapters in... 3 years ago

That’s pretty much it. That’s about as far as I had gotten before, so I went through that pretty quickly. I’m hoping to finish it soon so I can start getting things done.

Along with all of the other 8902342342 things on my to-do list, of course.

I unpacked this book from a box last night. I really should start reading it again.

Just finished the book... 3 years ago

and I have to say it was great. Unfortunately, the reading of it was a bit punctuated due to work and travel, but it’s the first book I’ve read completely in a long time, so that has to mean something.
I really feel as though this book will help me get more things done (ugh), because I already see several of the practises listed taking shape in one for or another in my own daily routine. And now that i have a bit of time, I will actually go through and do the whole “mind dump” strategy which the book proposes to try and get a handle on everything in my life.
Now, that said, I don’t think that this book is necessarily for everyone, and I don’t purport it to be some great near-religious tome as many people regard it, because in reality it is just a book of common sense – common sense which many people tend to overlook by needlessly over-complicating their lives. And I am definitely one of “those people”.
To any of you considering reading, however, or who have already started, I recommend making the time to see this book through to its end, as I am sure it will be of some use to you.

The local Dymocks tells me the book isn’t available until December. It’s listed on their website though.

A&R also has it listed, but as “unpublished”.

    Bummer.
