    I've had a revelation - 3 years ago

    it’s not all about changing the morning. It’s about getting enough sleep the night before. I know this is obvious – and I knew it really – but I’ve noticed recently, because I’ve been thinking about it more – that a good night’s sleep transforms my waking up. I start the day feeling alive and awake and actually wanting to get out of bed, and think, and feel, and face the day. I haven’t been sleeping well recently and it’s been sort of an effort to get out of bed and be.

    So an early night tonight I think. And thinking about this below will help – thank Scribbles for these wonderful words!

    “Listen to the exhortation of the dawn! Look to this day! For it is Life, the very Life of Life.
    In its brief course lie all the verities and realities of your existence. The bliss of growth, the glory of action, the splendor of beauty;
    For yesterday is but a dream, and to-morrow is only a vision; But to-day well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness,
    And every tomorrow a vision of Hope. Look well therefore to this day!
    Such is the salutation of the Dawn.”

    New days 3 years ago

    Normally, I have no motivation at all to get up in the mornings. When I finally do, I walk round in a daze, shower. I’m not awake really, not thinking, not aware. Normally I’ve slept in so I hurry to where I need to be.

    I want to wake up early. Feeling refreshed. I want the first thoughts of the day to be ones of positivity, action, energy, hope for what the day could bring. Hope for what I can bring to other people’s days.

    So I think waking up with time to spend, making green tea, doing half an hour of yoga, doing some reading, and having time to walk to uni instead of taking the bus. And also – changing my mind-set to one of positivity.
