For as long as I can remember I have wanted to make a movie, more than anything a Zombie movie. I have never been to film school, or had any formal training of any kind, so I thought it would remain just a dream in the back of my head. That was until about two months ago. I started purchasing some independant horror films, actualy seeking them out. I was amazed at what some have done with no training and no money! So I talked to a few friends who also share my love of movies, and we have decided to work together to make the film! We have all worked at geting the money for a camera, we looked around and found a model used in many of the indie films put out lately, which of course is digital, and only had to shell out $3,000.00 for it, which left $8,000.00 in out budget for the rest of the film, most will be spent on special effects since all our actors are working for nothing!!! We found some actors from the drama class at the local university who seem more excited than us to be in the film for nothing!!! And everyone we tell about it begs us to be extra’s in the film. We have almost finished the script, storyboarding is next and we have already been lucky enough to have found awsome locations within our area for shooting. Im both excited and a little scared! We are spending alot of cash on this, well alot to us, and we may be the only ones watching it! It’s a gamble but one I feel worth taking! So what’s the story??? well just a glimpse of it… It begin’s a year after the Zombies first apeared, not many have survived and those who have, have became very good at staying alive. The main charector has been living alone since his lover was killed six months ago, and his supplies are almost gone. He hasnt left his boarded up house since his lover died, but now is forced to, or starve. The nearest store has already been picked clean, and the closest town is 30 miles away. He has no car since the last trip out to get supplies ended in him totaling his car, this is how his lover was killed, not by zombies by the way. So he has to make it to a town 30 miles away, with no car, surrounded by zombies, and all alone. He of course runs into other survivors along the way, forging frienships, saving lives, getting saved, and eventualy finding love again amist armagedon happening all around. that is the jist of it anyway. No title yet, still taking suggestions with that, and also looking for input from anyone who will give in on ideas for the script, or scenes, or even charectors. if you have any ideas, please, PLEASE contact me!!! I did a dry-run pitch to a potential director the other week and she bought it; I’d better write the script now then eh?
It’s going to be about 20 minutes long and needs to be shot on a low budget. We’re going to try and get funding for it from the BFC, it seems unlikely, but it will be a work of art and is therefore eligible.
I’ve not written a film script before so the first draft is going to be in some poor shape. However …
i agree with you gracekai but i want there to be special effects in it like blood squirting all over the screen to make it look cool :P

i’ve started writing the script, and i have most of the storyboard done. i’m going for a classic zombie movie, nothing to out of the ordinary. i’m looking forward to making all of the blood and guts. any suggestions on how to make them?
