How I did it: One day, I decided that I was tired of the way I was living my life. I was always bored and frustrated. I started looking at the way I was planning my life out and realized that to some extent this was the root of my unhappiness. So I decided to try planning my daily life every morning instead of trying to keep up with plans from months in advance.
When I wake up in the morning, I think of all the things I want to do in that day. I don't think about tomorrow, or any further than the day ahead of me. I consider the things that I HAVE to do for the day. Then I prioritize these things and make a list. Through my day I do the things on my list and usually finish most of it. The things that I don't finish usually don't get abandoned, and things are going pretty well without me planning things ahead of time.
Now that I'm not planning things so far ahead, I find myself actually getting more stuff done, and feeling more accomplished every day. I have more fun with my life and go more places. I've even started finding it easier to talk to people, since I feel like I actually have something to talk about. All in all, I'd say living one day at a time has taught me that there is no reason to live in fear or with regrets. Every day is a new day and if you don't like yesterday, you can always make today better. Read how I did it… 15 months ago
