I found some ways to manage my time better when I’m getting ready for school. So instead of waking 5:30, I can wake at 6. A whole lot easier to stick to!

My first step... 9 months ago

If I just stopped procrastinating and did my homework in the morning, I wouldn’t have to waste time on it at night. That’s what I need to work on.

I have been thinking about this a lot. I’m going to mark it as having given up. But, really i am making a compromise with myself. I am not going to attempt to get up at 6am anymore, at least not regularly. It has seemed for years that 7am is my natural awake time. Even today – a Sunday Morning – i woke up at 7ish and couldn’t get back to sleep even though i went to bed at 2am last night.
So the agreement is: if i will allow myself to sleep till 7am, then i must, on a regular basis, make an effort to go to bed by 11pm. This means fading down at 10. Make tea, walk Simonpup, bathroom routine, put on mellow music and grab a book/journal. Even if i’m relaxing in livingroom, that’s fine. doesn’t have to be bed.
But i can’t be up sanding or painting at 10:30pm. I’m going to try to think of it as “me” time.

So Far, No Good 16 months ago

Well, it’s been 1 full work week and haven’t managed it yet. I’m thinking i might have to postpone this goal until i finish a lot of the house remodeling. I tend to put in several hours every night after working my regular job—naturally, this doesn’t make getting up at 6am easier.
Once most of the house is done, I hope to switch gears to self-improvement (writing, exercising, yoga, etc.) so it might be more appropriate at that time.

    Fighting Nature? 16 months ago

My natural clock seems to go off around 7am. Regardless of the day of week or time of year. Whenever i force it to 6am, I either fail and hit snooze or spend the whole day half alive. Still, 7am is cutting it too close for work and the pups. Tired of rushing like a crazy woman in the morning.
