SimplicityInTheLBCDecember's Fancy-Ass Pedicure

OPI Nail Lacquer in “Bastille My Heart.” Dark purply-red, appropriate for holiday time and winter and the end of the year.

This is the last of this year’s Fancy-Ass Pedicures! I enjoyed this goal – it gave me something to look forward to every month. I got some nail polishes as gifts over the course of the year, so I didn’t even have to buy anything new. Granted, I can’t do anything as pro as what they do in the nail salon, but I’m not a high-maintenance nail art type of girl anyway. (Which is why I don’t bother with manicures – playing piano and typing all day tends to mess up a manicure pretty fast, and I think even the smallest chip in polish makes a girl look cheap.)

SimplicityInTheLBCNovember's Fancy-Ass Pedicure

OPI Nail Lacquer in “A Dozen Rosas.” Enjoying it for a week before I have to paint my toenails silver for my sister’s wedding (micromanage much?). 6 months ago

SimplicityInTheLBCOctober's Fancy-Ass Pedicure

A pearlescent pink that Sally Hansen calls “Flamingo.” Very subtle, and doesn’t photograph terribly well. 7 months ago

SimplicityInTheLBCSeptember's Fancy-Ass Pedicure

A bit late (had to redo it, the original was not a good color). Sinful Colors in “Let’s Talk.” 7 months ago

SimplicityInTheLBCAugust's fancy-ass pedicure

This polish is from Sephora, and smells like pineapple. Suddenly I feel like I’m in fifth grade again! 9 months ago

SimplicityInTheLBCJuly's fancy-ass pedicure

Going for a patriotic look (both US and France celebrate their independence in July)! Yes, I’ve already used two of these colors for this project – but not like this.

Red = Orly “Monroe’s Red”
White = Sally Hansen “Nearly Nude Naturel White”
Blue = Sally Hansen “Calypso”

SimplicityInTheLBCJune's fancy-ass pedicure

Going a bit nostalgic on this one. Wet N Wild polish in “Ebony Hates Chris,” overlaid with Sinful Colors silver glitter polish in “Queen of Beauty.” (What marketing idiot is coming up with these names?) Both are super-cheap drugstore finds, and were staples of my high school goff days.

SimplicityInTheLBCMay's Fancy-Ass Pedicure

Sally Hansen Nail Color in Calypso. It’s so hard to find a good strong blue (not navy, not teal, not sheer, not pastel) that I’ve kept this one for years. It’s been discontinued and I still haven’t found another polish that’s the right shade.

Not a very good picture of it, but it’s Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in Hot Magenta.
